New Events for Fall

The first symposium of the season, organized in collaboration with the publishing house Oceanida, will be part of a series and will take place on Saturday, October 24 October at 20.30 pm as always in our wine cellar. The subject will be: "The importance of the ancient Greek civilization for man in the 21st century. The second symposium of this month will be scientifically oriented and will take place on Saturday October 31. Our speaker for the evening, Mr. Niko Matsopoulo who is in charge of the visitors center at the Penteli Observatory will present to us "The Unknown Universe".
Our first philosophical symposium for the season will deal with the “The Trial of Socrates” which took place in 399 B.C in a defeated Athens after the Peloponnesian War and a subject which continues to remain one of the greatest political and philosophical puzzles of all time. Why, in a society enjoying more freedom and democracy than any the world had in his writings, during the last day of his life? And finally, is this just a matter for history or does it perhaps dictate a way of life for ancient and modern man?
