The Megapanos Wine Club was created through the interest of friends of the A. Megapanos Winery who enjoy our wines, which are all produced exclusively from Greek grape varietals, and by those of you who possess a desire to learn more about the magical qualities of wine. Every month members of the Megapanos Wine Club have the opportunity to gather together in a warm and friendly environment which enjoying a culinary experience of the highest quality. There is always the opportunity for the constructive exchange of ideas, knowledge and experiences. With this in mind we introduced with great success the “Symposium”, which we are pleased to announce will continue this year as well.

A symposium in ancient Greece originally referred to a convivial meeting, usually following a dinner, for drinking and intellectual conversation. The symposiarch would oversee the whole event by appointing a topic for discussion and deciding on how strong or diluted the wine would be depending on the nature of the evening. Guests came prepared and presented their opinions and personal experiences in an atmosphere of acceptance and respect. Paramount rule of good behavior was the energetic participation of each member. We try to re-create the same spirit of this ancient and civilized custom. Each month, a guest lecturer presents and interesting topic for interactive discussion and reflection while dining and drinking a refreshing glass of wine.
